Arches National Park
Remember camping in Arches when you were a kid? It is one of the greatest camping places on earth! So many rocks to climb, so many nooks and crannies to discover, so much sand! Well, as a grown up it is still an amazing place, but now every rock to climb looks like a death trap! While Neil and I were setting up camp, the kids took off running and climbing on the rocks behind the campsite. We didn't realize until Neil later investigated, but they were running on narrow cliff tops with 100 foot drops on both sides! Neil isn't as fearless as he was before he turned 40. The cliff tops were immediately off limits!

The hike to the famous Delicate Arch had much to see and discover.
Jeff and Mark were working on their Junior Ranger badges. They were quick to remind us not to "Bust the Crust!" In other words, Stay on the Trail!
This is a unique view from another arch.

Neil looks like he is just taking their picture. Actually he followed them out there because he thought they were going to fall to their deaths.

Yes, that is just what it looks like.

On the trail to Landsape Arch and Double O.
Landscape Arch. It looks like it could crumble anytime! The fences are new and the trail has changed some. Especially since Wall Arch collapsed a few years ago. Another chunk fell off just a few days before we arrived!

That bandana is fantastic Jenn! We're so bummed we couldn't make it down. Maybe next year?
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks fabulous! Looks like Gma and Gpa made it down for the most important part of the whole trip!
ReplyDeleteYes, the bandana is my new favorite camping accessory. I think I need a couple more!
